I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently under discussion for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters met for the customary stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it highlighted just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
